Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Children in Care (CIC) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that children in care receive the support and services they need to thrive.

As a Qualified Social Worker in the CIC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing care plans that prioritize the welfare and best interests of children.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with children, families, and other professionals to facilitate effective support.
  • Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely intervention and support for children in care.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to collaborative efforts to safeguard children.
  • Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families, ensuring they have the resources to care for children.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly in a Children in Care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
