We are seeking a dedicated and experienced AFC - Senior Practitioner to join our Duty & Assessment Team on a temporary basis, offering a competitive rate of £39.04 per hour via an Umbrella Company. This role is critical in ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive the support they need. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead assessments, provide guidance to junior staff, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families in need.
  • Leading and supervising a team of social workers and support staff.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and local authority policies.
  • Providing training and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to promote the welfare and safeguarding of children.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in report writing and case management systems.
