We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Assistant Practitioner to join our Child and Family Assessments Team in Leeds. This role is pivotal in supporting families and children in need, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes. As part of our dynamic team, you will work closely with social workers and other professionals to assess the needs of children and families, providing invaluable support and guidance throughout the assessment process.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the assessment of children and families, gathering relevant information to support decision-making. Conducting home visits and engaging with families to build trusting relationships. Documenting observations and interactions accurately, contributing to comprehensive assessment reports. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to ensure a holistic approach to child welfare. Participating in team meetings and case discussions to share insights and strategies.To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A relevant degree or qualification in social work, child development, or a related field. Experience working with children and families, ideally within a social care setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations. Sound knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
