Children's SW - Families First Team - Somerset
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Families First Team in Somerset, specializing in children's services. This pivotal role involves working collaboratively with families to promote the welfare and safety of children, ensuring their needs are met through effective intervention and support. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing care plans, and working closely with other professionals to deliver high-quality services to vulnerable children and their families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families in line with statutory requirements.
- Developing and implementing tailored support plans that address individual family needs.
- Building strong relationships with children, parents, and caregivers to foster a supportive environment.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate services and support.
- Monitoring and reviewing progress, ensuring that interventions are effective and responsive to changing needs.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
- Registration with Social Work England or equivalent professional body.
- Proven experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and family support.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with relevant legislation and best practices.
