The London Borough of Newham is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team. This vital role involves working collaboratively with various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. As a Children’s Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in assessing the needs of children and families, providing support, and ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families in need of support.
  • Working closely with partner agencies to gather information and coordinate responses.
  • Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual family needs.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in strategy meetings and child protection conferences as required.
  • Providing advice and support to families, ensuring they are aware of available services.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker status with a relevant degree in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children's social work, particularly within a MASH or safeguarding environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency framework.
