Newham Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team. This role offers a competitive rate of £39.04 per hour on an Umbrella Company basis. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and families, ensuring their well-being and safety through effective collaboration and intervention.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support.
  • Collaborating with various agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to junior social workers and other team members.
  • Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the needs of children and families.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local and national standards.
  • Participating in case reviews and strategy meetings to ensure effective intervention.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working within a MASH or similar safeguarding environment.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-agency setting.
