The London Borough of Newham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Team within the Family Support Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the welfare and safety of children and families in our community. As a Qualified Social Worker in the Children's Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Providing direct support and intervention to families, ensuring the best outcomes for children.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding discussions.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
