Caritas Recruitment is working with Trafford Council to recruit permanent Social Workers across locality teams in Altrincham, Stretford and Sale. These roles sit within the Support & Protection service, working with children and families at Child Protection and care proceedings stage.
Salary
£37,280 - £42,839
- Band 7 (Level 2) or Band 8 (Level 3)
- £2,400 market supplement for Band 8 Social Workers
About the Role
You will join a dedicated Support & Protection service working with children and families where risk has escalated and longer-term, complex intervention is required. The service focuses on achieving sustainable change, enabling children to remain safely within their families wherever possible.
Your work will include:
- Managing cases across Child Protection and Care Proceedings
- Undertaking assessments and developing clear, outcome-focused plans
- Supporting families through complex and high-risk situations
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners
- Representing the Local Authority in legal proceedings
- Carrying out relational, strengths-based practice to improve long-term outcomes
The service is committed to manageable caseloads of around 20 children, supporting quality practice and better outcomes.
About You
- Social Work qualification and SWE registration
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualified experience in children's services
- Strong background in safeguarding, CP, and court work
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound risk-based decisions
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Enhanced DBS (Children's Barred List) required
