Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Family Help and Protection Team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a qualified social worker, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to provide the necessary support and protection for children at risk.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans and intervention strategies. Working closely with families, schools, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and documentation. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection conferences.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a social work setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust. Sound knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
