Caritas Recruitment is proud to be supporting Oldham Council in recruiting permanent Social Workers to join their Children's Safeguarding & Child Protection teams. About the Role
As a Social Worker within Oldham's Children's Services, you will manage a varied caseload, undertaking assessments, developing and reviewing care and support plans, and working closely with families to create meaningful change. You will play a key role in safeguarding children, responding to risk, and supporting families through complex and often challenging circumstances.
You will also:
- Undertake assessments and develop effective care plans
- Manage risk and respond to safeguarding concerns
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
- Attend court, reviews, and case conferences
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports
- Contribute to a culture of continuous professional development
About You
- Social Work qualification and SWE registration
- Minimum of 2 years' experience (ideally in safeguarding/CP, but other backgrounds considered)
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to improving outcomes for children and families

- Grade 7: £36,648 - £40,221
- Grade 8: £40,221 - £44,428
