In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of qualified social workers, ensuring that vulnerable children receive the support and services they need to thrive. You will be responsible for overseeing the initial assessment processes, safeguarding referrals, and managing complex cases, all while promoting best practices in social work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the Front Door Team, providing supervision and support to social workers.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate assessments of children and families in need.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to safeguard children effectively.
  • Reviewing and monitoring casework to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and training for team members.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in children's social work, including managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and professionals.
