Join the Corporate Parenting Team at London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD) as a Children's Social Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in care. In this challenging yet rewarding position, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and various agencies to ensure the best outcomes for our young people. Your expertise will be vital in assessing needs, developing care plans, and providing support to children and their families, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children's needs and risks, developing appropriate care plans. Working closely with children and families to provide support, guidance, and intervention. Collaborating with partner agencies to ensure a holistic approach to care and support. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Experience in children's social work, particularly within a corporate parenting context. Strong understanding of child protection legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
