As a member of the Fostering Assessment Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of prospective foster carers, including home visits and interviews.
  • Writing detailed reports that reflect the assessment process and recommendations.
  • Working closely with children, families, and external agencies to ensure the best interests of the child are prioritized.
  • Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers throughout the fostering process.
  • Participating in panel meetings and presenting assessments to the fostering panel.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable experience in fostering or children’s social work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
