As a QSW in our Fostering Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of prospective foster carers and ensuring their suitability to provide a nurturing environment.
  • Supporting and supervising foster families, offering guidance and training to enhance their caregiving skills.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in fostering or child protection services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing a caseload effectively.
