Devon County Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children with disabilities and their families. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children while promoting their development and independence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Providing ongoing support and intervention to children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including health and education professionals.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
