As a Qualified Social Worker in the UASC Team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments and developing care plans that meet the individual needs of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
- Building trusting relationships with children and their families to ensure their voices are heard and respected.
- Collaborating with multi-agency teams to deliver integrated support and services.
- Providing guidance and support to foster carers and residential staff to ensure a stable and nurturing environment.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local authority policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly with unaccompanied minors.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse communities.
