Birmingham - QSW - Child Protection Team - NWC area
Join our dedicated Child Protection Team in the North West Central (NWC) area of Birmingham as a Qualified Social Worker (QSW). This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their families. You will be at the forefront of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, working collaboratively with families, agencies, and communities to deliver effective and compassionate support.
As a Qualified Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments of children and families to determine their needs and risks.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing child protection plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Building strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners to facilitate effective interventions.
- Providing advice and support to families, empowering them to make positive changes.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony as required.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in child protection, safeguarding, and working with vulnerable children and families.
- Strong analytical and assessment skills with the ability to make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with families.
