We are seeking a committed Children’s Social Worker to join a Family Help Team supporting children, young people and their families through periods of challenge and change. You will work alongside families to identify strengths, address needs and improve outcomes, using a relationship-based and strengths-focused approach. The role will involve completing high-quality assessments, developing and reviewing effective support plans, and coordinating services across education, health, community and specialist partners.

You will manage a varied caseload, ensuring that children’s voices, wishes and feelings remain central to all decisions. Your responsibilities will include undertaking statutory visits, assessing risk, responding to safeguarding concerns, contributing to child protection processes, and taking appropriate action when children may be at risk of harm. You will maintain accurate and timely case records, prepare reports for meetings and reviews, and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure plans are purposeful, proportionate and regularly evaluated. You will also contribute to early intervention, restorative practice and the development of positive relationships with families.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the relevant professional regulator. You should have experience of working with children and families within a statutory or family support setting, with a sound understanding of safeguarding practice, relevant legislation and professional standards. We are looking for someone who can analyse information effectively, make balanced decisions, manage competing priorities and communicate confidently with children, families and partner agencies. A reflective, resilient and solution-focused approach is essential, together with a commitment to continuous learning and improving practice. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary service.
