Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and young people in our community. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the views and wishes of children are central to the planning and review process, while also ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children in care and ensuring that their needs are met. Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback. Ensuring that the voice of the child is heard and considered in all decision-making processes. Monitoring the effectiveness of care plans and making recommendations for improvements. Providing training and support to social work staff regarding best practices in child welfare.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection, fostering, or adoption services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
