Social Worker - Children Looked After - Knowsley Borough

Knowsley Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Children Looked After team. In this vital role, you will work with children and young people in care, ensuring their well-being and development while promoting positive outcomes. Your expertise will help navigate complex situations and provide essential support to children and their families, making a real difference in their lives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments to identify the needs of children looked after and their families.
  • Developing and implementing care plans that promote stability and positive outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure comprehensive support for children.
  • Advocating for children’s rights and best interests in all decision-making processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to children and their families throughout their care journey.

The ideal candidate will possess a Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should have a solid understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding practices, and experience working with children in care. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage a varied caseload.
