Join our dedicated team as a Social Worker specializing in Looked After Children (LAC) and Children in Care (CIC) in Somerset. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. As a key member of our social work team, you will provide vital support, advocacy, and guidance to children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional development.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments of children’s needs and developing tailored care plans. Building trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals. Managing a caseload of LAC/CIC cases, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to promote positive outcomes for children. Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a social work context. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
