Join our dedicated team as a Children’s Social Worker (SSW) in the MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) Team in Oldham. We are looking for a passionate and skilled professional to play a vital role in safeguarding children and promoting their welfare. As a Children’s SSW, you will work collaboratively with partner agencies to assess and respond to the needs of children and families in crisis, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, empowering them to make positive changes.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Participating in team meetings and case discussions to share insights and develop best practices.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
