Senior Social Worker - Assessment Team - Barnet Council

Barnet Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Assessment Team. This pivotal role involves working with vulnerable individuals and families to assess their needs and provide tailored support. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop care plans, and ensure that services are delivered in a timely and effective manner. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults within our community.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of individuals and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with service users and other professionals.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local and national standards.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in social work, preferably within an assessment or safeguarding setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with service users and colleagues.
