Senior Social Worker - Child in Care Team - Barnet

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child in Care Team in Barnet. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of children in care, conducting assessments and developing care plans.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to promote the welfare and safeguarding of children.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development.
  • Participating in court proceedings and representing the local authority in legal matters as required.
  • Developing and implementing intervention strategies that are child-centered and evidence-based.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a child protection or child in care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
