The City of Westminster is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Child in Need (CIN) Team. This role is pivotal in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families in our community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality social work services, ensuring that the needs of vulnerable children are met effectively and compassionately.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing child protection plans in collaboration with families and relevant stakeholders.
  • Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring timely interventions and support services are provided.
  • Working closely with schools, health services, and community organizations to promote holistic support for children.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding policies and practices.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills including:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly within a CIN context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare.
