Children's SM/QA - Safeguarding Team - Plymouth

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's SM/QA - Safeguarding Team member to join our interim team in Plymouth. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our community. As a key player in our safeguarding initiatives, you will work closely with various stakeholders to uphold best practices and support vulnerable children and families.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and audits of safeguarding practices across services.
  • Collaborating with social workers, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.
  • Providing training and support to staff on safeguarding protocols and procedures.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of safeguarding measures and reporting findings to management.
  • Acting as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant degree in social work, child development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in safeguarding children, preferably within a local authority or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of legislation and best practices in child safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
