Senior Practitioner – Adoption | Southend-on-Sea City Council | £41.50ph
Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner for the Adoption team, offering a competitive rate of £41.50 per hour. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified social worker to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families within our community. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead and support the adoption process, ensuring the best outcomes for children and adoptive families.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and evaluating the needs of children and families in the adoption process.
- Providing expert guidance and support to social work staff and foster carers.
- Managing complex cases and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Conducting adoption assessments and preparing reports for court and panel presentations.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful adoptions.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and adoption services.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
