Children's Lead Practitioner - Child Protection Team - Warwickshire

Warwickshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Lead Practitioner to join our Child Protection Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families in our community. As a Lead Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk, working collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders to deliver high-quality child protection services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading assessments and developing comprehensive care plans for children and families in need of protection.
  • Conducting regular home visits and maintaining up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and other team members.
  • Collaborating with external agencies, including schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement, to safeguard children.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategy discussions to enhance service delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to professional development.
