In this pivotal role, you will lead a dedicated team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families within our community. You will play a crucial part in shaping safeguarding practices and driving improvements in service delivery.

As the Deputy Team Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the team, including supervision and performance management of staff.
  • Overseeing casework and ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of service improvements and best practices.
  • Facilitating training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Building strong relationships with partner agencies to promote effective collaboration in safeguarding efforts.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, along with a solid understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a proven track record in supervising social work staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
