Gateshead Council is seeking a Qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments and developing tailored support plans for children with disabilities.
- Working closely with families to identify needs and provide necessary resources and support.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and voluntary sector partners.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in case reviews and meetings to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
