Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a qualified Children’s LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) to join our dynamic team in Reading. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of children by overseeing and managing allegations against adults who work with children, including staff and volunteers. Your expertise will help to maintain high safeguarding standards and promote best practices within our local community.
As a Children’s LADO, your key responsibilities will include:
- Receiving and managing allegations against individuals who work with children.
- Conducting thorough investigations and ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines.
- Providing advice and guidance to local agencies, schools, and organizations on safeguarding matters.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated response to allegations.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all cases and outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
