Children's SW - ED Team - Tameside

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Emergency Duty Team in Tameside. In this role, you will be responsible for providing immediate support and intervention to children and families in crisis situations outside of regular office hours.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Responding to emergency situations involving children at risk of harm or in need of protection
  • Assessing the safety and well-being of children and families in crisis
  • Developing and implementing care plans to address immediate concerns and ensure the ongoing welfare of children
  • Collaborating with other agencies and professionals to coordinate support services for families in crisis
  • Participating in on-call duties to provide round-the-clock support to children and families in need

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
  • Experience working in a similar role within Children's Services, particularly in emergency duty or safeguarding teams
  • Strong assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families in crisis
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for children

Additional requirements for this position include a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, as the role may involve traveling to different locations to respond to emergencies.
