Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's SP - UASC & 16+ Pathways Team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and young people's needs and risks.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Providing direct support and advice to young people to help them navigate the challenges of adolescence and independence.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to facilitate effective multi-agency support for young people.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in working with children and young people, particularly in a social work or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in child protection and safeguarding.
