Children's SP - UASC & 16+ Pathways Team - Shropshire
Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's SP - UASC & 16+ Pathways Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children and young people, particularly those who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young adults transitioning to independence. You will play a vital role in assessing needs, developing care plans, and delivering tailored support to ensure the well-being and successful integration of our young people into the community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and young people's needs and risks.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
- Providing direct support and advice to young people to help them navigate the challenges of adolescence and independence.
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies to facilitate effective multi-agency support for young people.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in working with children and young people, particularly in a social work or related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in child protection and safeguarding.
