Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work - Youth Justice Team. This role is pivotal in supporting children and young people within the youth justice system, ensuring their needs are met while promoting their welfare and development. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and community organizations, to facilitate positive outcomes for vulnerable youth.

As a key member of the Youth Justice Team, your responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments to identify the needs of children and young people involved in the youth justice system. Developing and implementing care plans that promote rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Providing direct support and guidance to young people, helping them navigate challenges and make positive life choices. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a holistic approach to youth justice. Maintaining accurate and timely records of assessments, interventions, and progress.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working within youth justice or related fields. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in youth justice.
