Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's SP - UASC & 16+ Pathways Team. This dynamic role involves working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and young people aged 16 and above, providing essential support and guidance to help them navigate their transition to independence. As a Qualified Social Worker in our team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of the needs of UASC and young people, ensuring their voices are heard.

  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to provide holistic support and resources.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress of young people, adapting plans as necessary to meet changing needs.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and young people, particularly in a social work setting.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
