We are seeking a qualified Adult Social Worker to join a busy Safeguarding Team, supporting adults who may be at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation. This is an important role focused on promoting safety, wellbeing, independence and choice while ensuring that people’s rights, wishes and best interests remain central to all decisions. You will work with adults, families, carers and partner agencies to assess concerns, identify risks and coordinate effective safeguarding responses.

Your responsibilities will include undertaking safeguarding enquiries in line with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and local procedures; completing proportionate assessments and risk management plans; applying professional judgement when making complex decisions; and maintaining accurate, timely case records. You will participate in strategy discussions, multi-agency meetings and safeguarding planning, while working collaboratively with health services, police, housing, care providers and other professionals. The role will also involve identifying strengths and community resources, supporting people to achieve positive outcomes, and taking appropriate action where immediate protection is required.

Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Recent experience in adult social care, safeguarding or a related statutory setting is essential, along with a sound understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding principles and strengths-based practice. You should be confident managing a varied caseload, assessing complex situations and communicating sensitively with people who may have care and support needs. Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organisation, sound professional judgement and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team are required. A current enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one, will be necessary. This opportunity is suited to a resilient and compassionate practitioner committed to high-quality, person-centred safeguarding practice.
