Social Worker - Court Team

Caritas Recruitment is working with Cheshire East Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join their dedicated Court Team based in Crewe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker with strong court experience who is looking for manageable caseloads, supportive management, and flexible working arrangements.

About the Role

You will work with children and families involved in care proceedings, holding a small caseload of approximately 5-6 sets of care proceedings. Your focus will be progressing cases through the court process and ensuring the best outcomes for children.

Following the conclusion of proceedings, children will transfer to the most appropriate social work team based on their individual needs, allowing you to maintain a specialist court focus throughout your work.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Social Work England registration
  • Previous Children's Services experience
  • Strong knowledge of care proceedings and court work
  • Confident in preparing court statements, care plans and evidence
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families and multi-agency partners
