We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our team in Wigan, specifically focusing on the Duty and Assessment Team (DTM) within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This role offers a competitive rate of £40 per hour and provides an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting timely and thorough assessments of children and families referred to the DTM-MASH
  • Providing support and intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk of harm
  • Collaborating with partner agencies and professionals to coordinate safeguarding strategies
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and case conferences to develop holistic plans for families
  • Completing detailed and accurate case recordings and reports in accordance with statutory requirements

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection, assessment, and safeguarding practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to work effectively under pressure
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare
