Children's SW - Fostering Team - Wrexham
Wrexham Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's SW - Fostering Team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with children and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for those in care. You will be instrumental in assessing foster placements, supporting foster carers, and advocating for the needs of vulnerable children in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of foster carers and their suitability for placements.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and foster carers.
- Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster families, ensuring they have the resources needed to provide a safe and nurturing environment.
- Monitoring the progress of children in foster care and making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Working closely with other professionals and agencies to promote the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Care Wales.
- Experience working with children and families, particularly in a fostering or adoption setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to child welfare and fostering.
