We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children and Young People Team in Lewisham. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children, young people, and their families, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, engaging with various stakeholders to support vulnerable children and young people in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families. Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with children, young people, and their families. Providing support and guidance to social work staff, including mentoring and supervision. Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding and child protection initiatives. Engaging with families to empower them and promote resilience, ensuring that their voices are heard in the decision-making process.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA in Social Work, MA in Social Work, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and working with children and young people. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with families and professionals.
