Supervising Social Worker - Fostering Team - Shropshire
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our Fostering Team in Shropshire. This pivotal role will involve overseeing and supporting foster carers, ensuring the highest standards of care for children in foster placements. You will work collaboratively with a dynamic team, providing guidance, training, and ongoing support to foster families while promoting the welfare and development of the children in their care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting foster carers through regular visits and assessments.
- Conducting training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of foster families.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with social work colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in fostering.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker status with a valid Social Work England registration.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a social work setting, preferably within fostering or child protection.
- Strong knowledge of child development, attachment theory, and fostering regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families, and professionals.
- Proficient in assessment and report writing, with strong organizational skills.
