Caritas Recruitment are currently working with Lancashire County Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join their Kinship Assessment Team within the Fostering Service.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and supportive team dedicated to ensuring children can remain within their wider family networks wherever safe and appropriate to do so.

The Role

As a Social Worker within the Kinship Assessment Team, you will be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments of prospective Kinship Carers and Foster Carers. You'll play a vital role in supporting permanency planning for children and ensuring carers are fully assessed in line with fostering regulations, legislation, and best practice.

You will work closely with children, families, carers, and multi-agency partners to deliver high-quality assessments that help achieve positive outcomes for children.

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

βœ… Social Work England registration

βœ… Post-qualified experience within Children's Services

βœ… Experience completing Kinship Care Assessments and/or Connected Persons Assessments

βœ… Experience undertaking Fostering Assessments

βœ… Strong working knowledge of fostering legislation, regulations, policies, and statutory guidance

βœ… Excellent assessment, report writing, and analytical skills

βœ… The ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines effectively
