West Berkshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Children and Families (C&F) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community. As a Children's Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, working collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in your care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and developing care plans to meet the individual needs of children and families. Working closely with children, parents, and other stakeholders to provide support and interventions. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case records in line with statutory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection conferences. Providing advice and support to families, empowering them to make positive changes.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a statutory setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
