Birmingham - Senior Practitioner -Child In Need Team
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Child In Need Team in Birmingham. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children who require additional support. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in leading casework, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders to deliver high-quality social work services.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of complex cases, conducting assessments, and developing intervention plans.
- Providing supervision and guidance to social workers and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Working collaboratively with families, children, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes.
- Contributing to team meetings, case reviews, and safeguarding discussions.
- Maintaining accurate case records and preparing reports for court proceedings when necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and working within a Child In Need framework.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
