The London Borough of Croydon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker for our Out of Hours Team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and responding to urgent safeguarding concerns, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Providing support and advice to families in crisis, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Documenting case notes and maintaining accurate records in accordance with local authority policies and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to safeguarding and support.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in children's social work, particularly in crisis intervention and safeguarding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with a sound understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
