Cardiff - Principal Social Worker - Court Team
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Social Worker to join our Court Team in Cardiff. This pivotal role involves providing leadership and expertise to our team, ensuring high-quality social work practice and effective intervention in court proceedings. As a Principal Social Worker, you will be responsible for supporting social workers in their case management, offering guidance on complex cases, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising a team of social workers, providing mentorship and professional development.
- Conducting assessments and reviews of complex cases, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Representing the Court Team in legal proceedings, providing expert testimony when required.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures that enhance service delivery.
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognised social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Care Wales (or eligible for registration).
- Significant post-qualifying experience in social work, particularly in court settings.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to collaborative working.
