The London Borough of Havering is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work – Children in Care (CIC) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community. You will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring that their needs are met through effective intervention and support.

As a Qualified Social Worker in our CIC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Providing direct support and guidance to children in care, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection conferences. Engaging with foster carers and adoptive families to ensure the best outcomes for children.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children and families in a social work setting, particularly within a CIC context. Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a capacity to work collaboratively. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.

Are you a dedicated and passionate social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? The London Borough of Havering is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join our Children in Care (CIC) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive environment where you can help vulnerable children thrive and achieve their full potential.

As a Children’s Social Worker in our CIC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments and developing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring their safety and well-being through regular monitoring and support. Working closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for children. Participating in court proceedings, presenting evidence, and advocating for the best interests of children. Engaging in multi-agency meetings and contributing to service development initiatives.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (degree in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience working with children and families, particularly in a statutory setting. Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across different disciplines.
