Join our dedicated team as a Children's Social Worker (CWD/Duty/Locality Team) in Wigan, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people within the community. As a qualified social worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing care plans, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for those in your care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Providing support and intervention to children and families in a variety of settings.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the safeguarding process.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in a duty or locality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
