Warrington Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work - Child Protection Team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while working collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of effective care plans, assessments, and interventions tailored to the unique needs of each child.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and risks faced by children and families.
  • Developing and reviewing child protection plans in collaboration with multi-agency partners.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, empowering them to make positive changes.
  • Maintaining detailed case records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.

To be considered for this position, you must hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work) and be registered with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and safeguarding is essential, along with a strong understanding of legislation and best practices in children's social work. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
