We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team in Birmingham. This vital role involves providing high-quality support and guidance to unaccompanied minors, ensuring their safety and well-being while facilitating their integration into the local community. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, social workers, and external agencies to deliver tailored care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading assessments and reviews for unaccompanied minors, ensuring compliance with local and national policies. Providing expert advice and support to social workers and other team members in complex case management. Developing and implementing care plans that promote the best interests of each child. Building strong relationships with children, families, and stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and making necessary adjustments.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

A relevant social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and working with asylum-seeking children. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to UASC. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to care.
